  1. This was perfect timing. I have been using Catalina Photos to edit and recently purchased Lightroom Classic 2020 (Photoshop comes too) but not the 1T cloud version. Have been looking at youtube to learn with little success.
If I want to jump back to a module, is there an index to open directly to the module?
Where do I find my progress? Thanks for this this tutorial. Am now headed for the Library modules.

    1. Hi Ralph –

Sadly, the course software doesn’t have a link back for some reason. We’ll figure out something eventually though, even if I have to put a link in manually. As for progress, after you finish a video, make sure you click the little “completed” button below it (scroll past the TOC). Then you’ll be able to see your progress on the main page. 🙂

  2. I’m able to pull up previous units in chrome history, click then I can play again and go to next unit if I want.

  3. Thank you for the clear, concise and logically presented presentations.

  4. I am really loving this course, it lays things out in just the right way for me to understand it. I do have a question however on the “Importing from a Hard Drive” chapter. if my photos have already been moved to the hard drive that I want them to remain on, and I just need to get them into Lightroom. I can see how using the add feature merely adds them to the Lightroom catalogue, but it skips the renaming of the file step, so my images are in the catalogue with the Nikon assigned image number. How do I apply the custom preset features that I set up to rename and add custom text to the images in the catalogue?

Thank you for helping me out with this.

(I cannot wait four your Develop Module!!!!)

    1. You can actually rename everything in the library module after you import. See the Metadata video – it covers it.

  5. Hi Steve, really enjoying the course. I am having trouble importing my Raw files into LR via my Sony XQD reader. When I open LR the NEF file doesn’t open , it just reads Preview unavailable for this file. [The Jpegs do open] Do you no if this is a problem in may settings on the camera or in LR? I can convert them via Adobe DNG Converter , this just seems a long way around, any tips appreciated, Regards Peter

    1. The most common reason for this is that Lightroom requires an update. Most of the time, updating to the current version fixes the problem. However, if you are using an older, stand-alone version of Lightroom, you will have to use the DNG converter (Adobe doesn’t add new camera profiles to the older versions).

  6. Hi Steve,
I have several hard drives with all images backed up with different versions of light room. They were made on 3 different Macbook Pros and from 1 window based PC with Lightroom. My current Mac has Lightroom Classic 9.2.1 subscription release. I started importing some of the older images to my 4TB e-HD And all worked fine. Then I decided to move the files from the Mac HD to the 4TB main e-HD, I transferred it like you described; It worked fine but my desk top folder icons vanished. Then I imported (using LR) Images from A different e-HD to the 4TB e-HD and it seemed to import properly . But, when I checked in LR, I could not find the imported folders; and when I looked at the file of the 4TB e-HD in Finder, they all showed to be there. I assume it has to do with the catalogs but I cannot figure out how to fix it. I know that you are busy, but could you point me in the direction I need to go? I tried LR forums, Nikonians, and searched for a book that might help w/o success.
    Thank you,
    Mike Poynor
